Resort Marketer of the Year Award
The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and Fareed Zapala Koepke are pleased to announce the inaugural call for nominations for the 2010 Resort Marketer of the Year Award. The award honors individual leadership and achievement in the field of resort marketing.
Eligibility
Eligible nominees must be employed within a hospitality organization, with current responsibilities focused on the branding, marketing and/or communications aspects of a resort. The recipient of the 2010 Resort Marketer of the Year Award must be available to receive the award in person at the HSMAI Resort Business Summit which will be held May 3-4, 2010 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Judging Process
A five-judge panel, consisting of members of HSMAI’s Resort Marketing Advisory Board and representatives from Fareed Zapala Koepke will evaluate entries and select one recipient from a field of up to five finalists. All judges will be leaders and experts in the field of resort marketing.
Nominations
Please use the online nomination form to propose an eligible professional for the 2010 Resort Marketer of the Year Award. If the person you submit is chosen as a finalist, HSMAI will contact them directly for additional information including a professional biography and photo.

Under the leadership of the HSMAI Resort Marketing Advisory Board, the project evolved to also address the challenges all of HSMAI’s members have in the face of the struggling economy.

About the Resort Marketing Special Interest Group
Formed in 2004, the Resort Marketing SIG is advancing the resort sales and marketing discipline and the professional development of its members.
The SIG accomplishes this through a wide range of information sharing, networking and educational opportunities.

Resort Best Practices Initiative
This initiative is a series of unique benchmarking studies prepared for subscribing resorts. It provides up-to-date information on current best practices and future trends that gives a resort insights into marketing techniques used successfully by others.

Questions posed by members of the SIG, along with pertinent topics of the day will be addressed to help you in your marketing and sales efforts. In future issues, this feature will include quick polls where you can provide input on current trends and industry practices.
